FEATURED WORK

ABOUT ME
I'm a Karachi-based journalist whose work has appeared in Pakistani and international publications. I have been in the field since 2009 when I joined The Express Tribune as part of its launch team. Later, I was responsible for launching the Peshawar metropolitan section of the Tribune, which published three daily pages covering news from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. After leaving the Tribune as a full-time staffer in 2014, I continued to work with the paper as an Editorial Consultant until 2017.

Internationally, I have worked as a fellow with The Sunday Times in Colombo and the Long Beach Press Telegram in California as a fellow of the International Centre for Journalists.
I have also worked on various training projects, including leading a citizen journalism programme that involved training 200 women and men from under-reported areas of Karachi in journalism and media ethics.

I'm also part of the Humanities and Social Sciences faculty at the Aga Khan University, where I teach Media Studies.

I have studied Comparative Political Thought at SOAS, University of London and completed my undergraduate degree from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey, where I studied Political Science and Public Administration.
